We’re looking for pitches with original reporting from journalists and writers. We’re particularly interested in exploring how the Philippines’ Spanish colonial past continues to shape and impact the present, and the various ways in which the Spanish language and Hispanic cultures fit into the Philippine culture at large.
To give you an idea of what we’re interested in publishing, here’s a list:
If you are interested in writing for us, please pitch an idea to [email protected] or [email protected]. Before sending your pitch, please read some of our articles to get a feel of our writing style. More importantly, please read our FAQs and ethics, policies and standards pages.
In your pitch, please tell us why the idea is timely and relevant and whether the article will be in English, Spanish or both. Don’t forget to include your writing portfolio/clips.
We pay US$50 for articles of 700-900 words and US$75 for long-form pieces of 1200+ words.
If the editor is interested, they will greenlight your pitch and assign you a deadline. However, the editor may not respond if the idea doesn’t fit.
